UTR Number

A UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) is a 10-digit number that is unique to each individual taxpayer. It is used by HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) to identify taxpayers and manage their tax records.

If you need to complete a self-assessment tax return, you will need a UTR number in order to file your tax return and make any related payments via an account that HMRC will create for you.
