Year To Date (YTD)

In financial and business use the term 'Year to Date' means the period to the point of assessment from the beginning of the fiscal year (April 6th in the UK).

The 'Year to Date' figures are often used concerning a particular event occurring in a business, such as the end of a seasonal period whereby the ongoing projection to the end of the fiscal year can be made using historic data and trends. It can also be used in the acquisition of a business where an up-to-date valuation is required.
