Redundancy Payment


For most categories of work that have lasted for more than two years and where employment is ceased due to a necessary reduction in workforce, without suitable alternative being offered, a compensatory payment becomes applicable.

The payment is subject to a minimum amount known as 'Statutory Redundancy Pay' which is calculated based on years of service, age of the employee and associated multiple of the average weekly pay received in the 12 weeks prior to the redundancy.
