Key Financial Reports

For most businesses, the key financial reports are:

  1. Income and Expenditure report (Profit and Loss account), which provides an overview of income and expenditure during the financial period).
  2. Balance Sheet (which provides an overview of the financial position in terms of assets, liabilities and fund balances at the end of a financial period).
  3. Cash Flow Statement / Forecast (which shows how money moves in and out of the business on a regular basis). In the case of a Cash Flow Forecast, this will be the projected movement of cash and is often required by lenders in establishing the viability of making a loan.
