Inheritance Tax

Tax paid, or charged, on money, assets, or property you have received from someone who has died is called 'Inheritance Tax'.

The inheritance is generally not reportable on a tax return and, where applicable, is reported and settled by the 'executor' of the estate. The tax is subject to a variety of thresholds, according to circumstances and as such is a fairly complex matter that requires the attention of an expert.
